RIP WCW/TNA Star Daffney

Former WCW and TNA star Daffney (Shannon Spruill) has passed away at the age of 46. Her death is believed to be suicide.

She is best known for her appearances with World Championship Wrestling between 1999 and 2001 and with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling from 2008 to 2011. Daffney got her big break in WCW playing the role of the girlfriend of David Flair and the manager of Crowbar. She also won the WCW Cruiserweight Championship.

She worked across all promotions on the independent scene until signing with TNA Wrestling in 2008 where she stayed until 2011. She suffered multiple concussions and sued the company for putting her in an “unsafe working environment.” The lawsuit was settled out of court in 2013.

It was a total surprise to see the article from last night, then to hear of her passing today.  I am more familiar with her time in WCW, but I enjoyed her persona during her time there, as well as her association with Crowbar and David Flair.   RIP Scream Queen.

Very sad to hear and read and see this last week.....  She was one of my all time favorites to come out of WCW to Impact and Shimmer fame....
