Overall Feelings and Opinions of AEW 2021 Revolution

I going try to do this with most AEW PPVs and some special shows...  Giving it a letter grade of A being a 4, B being a 3, C  being a 2, D being a 1, and F a  0....  With some thoughts and a over all grade...

the Buy In- Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Maki Itoh (with Rebel) defeated Riho and Thunder Rosa- going grade it a *B,  as it  open the night to follow also continue the feud with Britt and Rosa and possible feud with Maki Itoh and Riho..
2    The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) (c) defeated The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho and MJF) (with Wardlow)- giving this an *A, really showed what a tag team match should be could it been a little better maybe, but that beside my point..
3- Casino Tag Team Royale for a future AEW World Tag Team Championship match with Rey Fenix winning for Death Triangle eliminating Jungle Boy - going give it *B,  Could have been a A with at least one missing team I felt that should have been in it FTR, though it did give a dream match ending...
4- Hikaru Shida (c) defeated Ryo Mizunami - giving it an *A,  really thinking AEW Women's division is improving more and more, as it should with the amount of talent used, overall great match with lots of close calls...
5- Miro and Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) defeated Best Friends (Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor) by submission- giving this one a *C,  really this match could have been on a special edition of Dynamite,  and got to think another match or singles matches with these guys will happen in weeks to come..
6- "Hangman" Adam Page defeated "Big Money" Matt Hardy- grading this one a *B,  Could had been higher grade too, I just feel Matt Hardy isn't where he was a year ago, being a top signing then, but will say Page is the future...
7- Scorpio Sky defeated Cody Rhodes (with Arn Anderson), Penta El Zero Miedo, Lance Archer (with Jake Roberts), Max Caster, and Ethan Page- a *B for this messy match, though with the debut of Ethan Page,  Penta giving Cody the Destroyer on the ladder outside, Cody teasing leaving the match, hopefully this will be the match that take Cody out of the picture to let him go be with his wife on maternity leave for a few months, also was glad  Scorpio Sky won as I feel he deserves a singles title run...
8- Darby Allin and Sting defeated Team Taz (Brian Cage and Ricky Starks) (with Hook and Powerhouse Hobbs)- grading this a *B as well, it wasn't pretty by far, but it showed the resiliance of all in the match, and the talent... From Brian Cage with the Stalling Suplex carry of Darby, to Ricky Starks selling the moves maybe one of the best sellers, Sting showing he still can go taking some big bumps,  and Darby proving  he can over-come the odds....  What next for these talents I don't know??
9- Kenny Omega (c) (with Don Callis) defeated Jon Moxley- Grading it a *B for the match,a  *D for the overall ending which I want factor into the final grade other then maybe a minus.... But one had to figure the idea was to write Moxley off for a while to be with his wife, and have him come back later in the year...  Also figure it was way to push for Kenny to stay champion longer and push for future matches possibly the long awaited Hangman Page vs Kenny Omega rematch later this year....

Overall other then the dud ending of the PPV with the fireworks, bombs not going off in full may turn some fans off...  Also have to say Christian Cage was a good signing, to follow Paul Wight,  but one have to figure AEW have a few more guys they may try to sign later this year... The matches kept one watching with  all giving  it all...

Over All Grade- B Minus

What was your thoughts of the PPV, a Match, or one of the Debuts we seen????

Re: Overall Feelings and Opinions of AEW 2021 Revolution

I thought it was a fairly solid show. I felt maybe they could have held Big Show back to also debut on this show, it would have been cool to have seen Christian sign as he did, but somewhere during the event, Big Show also pop up. It would have probably crushed a few of those "oh he's not a big surprise" comments, a double shock.

The ending is however totally overshadowing the event and will linger in minds for a while. They'll need to move on from this quick and deliver some solid Dynamite's and ensure the next PPV is as strong as possible.

They may need to review their pyro arrangments :-/

Agree, and Agree,  I think the pyro in some of the match enterances was and is overdone.... Could had took some of the fire used in the Ladder match and had it for the ending...

Re: Overall Feelings and Opinions of AEW 2021 Revolution

AEW fair enough made a mistake within the anti-climactic ending the match itself was a great match for the ring limitations that they had Mox and Omega was brilliant and it really felt like a war, Plus the beatdown after the ending of the match with DOC and Anderson the handcuffing the exploding barbedwire bat and especially Kingston ready to sacrifice himself for his fallen brother it was beautiful it felt like when Liz and Savage reunited at WM VII it was powerful and it was near perfection....the clock counts down from 10..... then the fucking fucking bomb didnt go off proper if at all WWE fans and WWE wrestlers taken the piss out of it Ironic that WWE don't consider AEW a threat yet i bet they was extremely relieved that it didnt go as plan.
Now with all that being said I'm gonna say this their is MILLLLLLIONS of people that want AEW to fail and go out of business most WWE tards infact because deep down they feel threatened and scared that WWE has some serious competition
And they indeed do have competition but AEW has only been here for 2 years and in the short time they have been in their inception they have signed former WWE guys Legends Indy guys and gals donr celebrity deals made a mint on merch sales and most of this they have to do this without full crowds and a pandemic they have just lost a big talent in Brodie
Yet they still fight on they support one another they care for the fans they care for the sport
Yes they dig at WWE on TV and i like that gives it a rivalry feel and keeps it fresh
And i can relate to the whole WWE hate AEW because personally i want WWE to fail and expire and fuck off
I'm pretty sure i have been very vocal and clear with that opinion for as long as i have been here
But BIG companies also make mistakes and AEW made a mistake with the ending of Revolution
They will work something else out and move on from this
When Shockmaster messed up was anybody talking about it when NWO debuted NO
When the Curtain Call happened was anybody really talking about it when Austin won KOTR with his infamous 3:16 speech NO
NJPW will be getting involved with AEW very soon as the forbidden door is now open then this mistake will be just another thing of the past
AEW is here for the long haul guys and gals
And this blip will be just that a blip
Now Christian Cage coming in whilst he looks in the best shape of his life will be just another wrestler that will work with todays talent
WWE bury so many talent male and female they want a better deal they see the opportunity and they take it
Personally i want more guys from the E especially Ricochet who they have done nothing but bury the holy fuck out of that guy for so damn long

Rant over.........

Re: Overall Feelings and Opinions of AEW 2021 Revolution

Opener was good

Main event was good till the terrible finish

Nothing else was good.

Finish ruined the show
