Am I the only one that finally gave up on AEW???
I haven't been watching AEW in a long while. In the past, I've started to watch them since their very first ppv "Double Or Nothing" and watched almost every AEW ppv and Dynamite episode. I've watched all AEW ppvs up to "Revolution" and stopped watching them after that one. I skipped their second "Double or Nothing" ppv.
Why did I stop watching AEW? Well for one, their non-stop attacks at WWE. They just won't quit it. Over and over again, they claim they aren't in competition with WWE but I'm not buying that since all they do is attack WWE in the wrestling news media and take shots at them on AEW television. If they keep it up, they'll start to lose ratings and they'll go out of business fast.
Secondly, trans has no place in wrestling and Nyla Rose as women's champion is another reason that did it to me. I'm also no fan of Sonny Kiss and wish they would get that person whatever it is off of TV.
I also can't stand Sammy Guevara... don't like his boyish looks and he's annoying at best.
Yeah, I maybe a huge fan of Chris Jericho but I can appreciate what he did in the past like in WCW/WWE. I still think he's a great performer but I'm not gonna watch AEW when all these crybabies are gonna do is attack WWE all the time. Seems most of 'em are mad 'cause Vince didn't give them what they wanted.
AEW fans will probably make fun of me for this post but that's okay.... my opinion is my opinion and I'm allowed to have it.

Re: Am I the only one that finally gave up on AEW???
You have some valid points. It’s hard to get behind them when they constantly take shots at WWE even though Cody said they were going to stop doing that and focus on their own product. Cody also said that they were an alternative to WWE and were going to focus more on sports/wrestling and wins/losses but it seems to me that they are focusing more on entertainment then they said they would. Stadium Stampede match a debate with a special guest moderator. The biggest turnoff for me when it comes to AEW is the fanbase. The majority of them are hypocrites that praise AEW for doing something then turn around and criticize WWE for doing something similar. Take the Stadium Stampede match for example. AEW fans thought it was a great match and concept but when WWE did something similar by having their money in the bank ladder match at their corporate headquarters it suddenly became the worst creative decision in wrestling history. The most annoying part about is that they are so blinded by their fandom of AEW that they won’t accept criticism of AEW’s product or admit that their being hypocrites.

Exactly! WWE does alot wrong...don't get me wrong..and I am.of the utter mindset that it's time for Vince to go. But AEW does "no wrong" in their eyes...my biggest problem as of late is these "stars" being fed to AEW guys off the jump..and losing. What about the rankings? Cage...Lee fed to Mox...Archer to Cody. Etc. Yet if (hypothetically) killer Kross gets fed to Brock Lesnar people are going to flip their dang minds. Mox is my favorite thing in wrestling right now. And it's hard to justify his reign due to rankings...and the other scenarios I mentioned

AEW fan over here. AEW has its issues, I'm aware, don't agree with everything they do, but I enjoy the product, and I will continue to enjoy it. However, one thing I don't agree on is, both AEW and WWE take shots at each other, it's been ongoing, yes AEW slams on WWE, and it's happened vice versa. It drives views to both products, WWE probably loves when anyone in AEW says anything because it shows that no matter what anyone says WWE is still the one to beat. It's always happened, to criticize AEW for doing it, you'd have to do the same for any time someone in WWE said something negative about AEW, Impact, Indie wrestling talent. Shit talk happens.
Also, you made almost this exact same post right after Cody won the TNT championship, and while I agree you are definitely entitled to your own opinion, but why continue to put energy into something you no longer like? If your done with it, be done with it, no use and wasting your time.
People are gonna agree with you and people are gonna disagree with you.
I, personally prefer AEW over WWE these days, but I don't waste my time on a product I no longer enjoy, but I also am aware that people do still enjoy it. All things being said about AEW fanboys can be said about WWE fanboys.
Enjoy the wrestling you like and stop putting energy into the ones you don't, it makes your wrestling watching experience so much better.

To be fair AEW takes way more shots at WWE then WWE does at AEW. It seems like they are taking shots at WWE every week on their social media and their tv show. As an AEW fan don’t you think they should be focusing more on their product and less on trashing the competition. You don’t see NXT taking shots at AEW on their show or on social media. In my opinion this whole back and forth trashing is petty B.S. in my opinion. It also doesn’t look good when one of your VP’s(Cody) comes out and says they are done with the trashing of WWE but the trashing continues. I also agree that what AEW fans are criticized for can also apply to WWE fans. My main beef with AEW fans is that they crucify WWE when they do something they think is too gimmicky like the MITB ladder match from WWE corporate headquarters and then turn around and praise AEW for doing the same thing with the Stadium Stampede match. It’s like they don’t understand the definition of hypocrisy and that also applies to WWE fans as well.

On air I can only think of two WWE to AEW pot shots. (I very easily could have missed some. That was The Dx Hall of Fame speech..and Sami Zayn Q&A or whatever. Social media is fine. Thats just back and forth banter. Idk. It's one thing to give like props.."Oh htgats Jon Moxley..former WWE Champion!!" Versus something like MJF promo last night. Just silly. (Hunerous..and an awesome promo...but still)
Either way. I just shrug it off and enjoy what I wanna watch.

I can agree on the hypocrisy from fans, I do, it happens on both sides, I'm not here for complaining about what wrestling storylines have needed to be because of Covid. WWE made due with what they could do to make something interesting without having a crowd, so I don't agree with hammering down on the MITB match, but on the flip side, people were complaining about the stadium stampede match as well. The thing is, it's all give and take, yes, I agree that AEW takes more shots at WWE publicly than WWE has to them, however, we can't pretend that it's all one sided and that it isn't something WWE has done before to other companies/indie brands. I know the 'hottest beef' is between them right now because Impact is slowly making its comeback. I can understand being sick of it, however, its something that happens. It isn't gonna be the last time it happens on AEW and WWE will pipe up again. Really, I don't really see it bother either if them, because again, it drives views to both products and I do hope it pushes both of them to be better.
I hope this isn't coming off as me attacking you or your opinions, because I am really not, I am just sharing it from my side as someone who sees this as a driving force to get wrestling to be good again. In my opinion, it seems like your biggest issues is the fans over it being AEW, because it's really not AEW itself crucifying WWE for their match styles, I don't remember seeing any talent saying anything against the MITB match, if they did, please point me to it so I can correct myself, but I know fans dumped on it, which in this state, isn't right, I agree. Both companies are making due with what they have and doing it seemingly well.
I'll agree the shots at WWE could chill, and probably should, I think if taken with the right care their product stands and has stood on its own, but people make it into a 'war' and shots get taken on both sides. However, it's isn't just one sided, it isn't the first time it's happened, and it won't be the last. Which is why I stick by the, watch what you enjoy and don't waste time on what you don't, it takes the pressure off something that is supposed to be an escape from the real world.

Re: Am I the only one that finally gave up on AEW???
QUIT BITCHING ABOUT IT and ENJOY...
Sorry for the language, next I want to say quit complaining and enjoy the product.... As for the AEW taking shots at the WWE. all promotions have done that, NWA, Impact, Ring of Honor, MLW, New Japan, all take shots at the WWE... Also the WWE tend to do the same thing but no one notices or want to talk about that....
I use to enjoy the WWE but it getting to where it more Bullshit then joy, esp with the Boneyard match, the Swamp match, the Money In the Bank, the Eye for a Eye match with f'd up finishes, sure their bright spots but very few from the Hurt Business, Orton and Drew, and Bayley and Sasha....
As for AEW they the easy alternative to the WWE, though yes WWE lite in some aspects... But I really thinking they stepped up their game all during the pandemic.... AEW was first to use enhancement talent as fans and family and friends of the wrestlers as fans- WWE copied but with Jail house plexi-glass divider... AEW have used their setting better using the Jacksonville Football stadium, creating several tournaments to entertain fans, first wit the TNT title, now a Women tag, they also took advantage of the WWE cutting talent by signing a few so far but using them in different ways... Also seeing AEW taking shots at Jim Cornette with some storylines, involving FTR and MJF vs Moxley...
Lastly I going to say enjoy the product, don't give up, give it another chance... Just saying....
