Big News of Paul Wright signing with AEW

Well big news to start out Wednesday with Paul Wright- Aka the Big Show- aka the Giant  signing with AEW as commentator for their new show Elevation which is set to air on Mondays at 7pm...
Since his in ring career is most likely at the end, don't think he will ever wrestle again due to size and injuries, but he is a big signing for AEW... I'm sure they will make note of that tonight  on Dynamite...   Will ask what do y'all think of this signing???

Re: Big News of Paul Wright signing with AEW

While signing Paul Wight is big(pun intended) I think the bigger story is that they’re putting their new show on Monday night even if it is YouTube. Big risk for AEW but if it’s successful then that will be good for wrestling fans. As far as signing Paul Wight goes based on what I’ve seen reported it seems like at some point he is going to step in the ring for a match. Good for AEW but they need to be cautious about how they use him because we’ve all seen how critical fans can be of promotions that use part timers. If they use him too much they will get criticized for putting a part timer over younger talent and if they don’t use him enough they will get criticized for signing him and not using him enough. It’s a tight rope to walk when trying to please wrestling fans these days. I hope it works out well for everyone.

Big news for sure. I assumed he’d be a WWE lifer. It looks like things are shifting in the landscape of pro wrestling.

Honestly I was shocked when I read it, but good for Show, I hope he can do what her aims for there and is happy.

I'll say the same thing when a known wrestler signs with a company, if they feel happy with their contract and feel its the right fit, good for and more power to them.

Good for Paul and good for wrestling. It seems like a lot of criticism comes when AEW signs an ex WWE guy or vice versa. In reality people should realize wrestling is starting to feel like wrestling from when I was a kid. I mean that in the sense of not knowing where a wrestler will end up at any moment when their contracts are up. As long as a wrestler has a place to work with a lot of eyes on the product, it's great for the wrestler and great for the business overall.

It would not surprise me if Paul is involved some way in the Cody & Red Velvet vs Shaq & Jade Cargill match, just purely based from the history between Paul & Shaq.
